Emily

Emily is originally from Michigan, but has called Western North Carolina home for over 20 years. She is new to veterinary medicine; her formal education is in mental health and she has worked in the realm of human healthcare for the last several years. Emily might be new to the field, but she is very passionate about caring for animals. Her interest in veterinary medicine really took off when she began caring for local community cats: providing food, shelter, and medical care for many little friends that have come to her, including most recently a litter of four tiny kittens! In addition to her community cats, Emily and her partner have a few cats of their own that enjoy terrorizing their only dog, Mushroom (who realistically thinks she is just an overgrown cat as well).

When she is not taking care of furry friends, Emily also enjoys spending her time crocheting, gaming, and playing D&D (with Abby!). She is so excited to start in the wonderful world of veterinary medicine and cannot wait to help care for your pets!
