Dr. Morgan Frye (he/him) Medical Director, Managing Partner

Dr. Morgan Frye is a West Virginia native that has always aspired to be a veterinarian. This desire started with a love of his family dogs as a child and watching his family veterinarian fix his pet quail’s broken leg. Dr. Frye earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Marshall University and is a 2014 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
After graduation, Dr. Frye practiced in the Chicago area before making the move to Asheville in 2017. His interests in veterinary medicine include surgery, ultrasound, preventative, and geriatric care. He also enjoys getting to know the people and pets he sees every day and learning about how they bring joy to each other’s lives. Dr. Frye is a Fear Free Certified veterinarian.
Outside of work, Dr. Frye values his family time with his wonderful wife, son, daughter, and Orca the dog. When there is time his other hobbies include cooking, gardening, biking, hiking, and fly fishing. Dr. Frye is a lifelong cycling enthusiast and a passionate college football fan.

Dr. Jim Earley(he/him) Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Jim Earley is a graduate of the Veterinary College at the University of Georgia (Cum Laude in 1991). He completed a rotating internship program in small animal medicine and surgery at Texas A&M University. He has continued his education through the years focusing on internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, ultrasound (with a special interest in cardiac ultrasound), and Fear Free techniques. He is a proud Certified Fear Free Veterinary Professional and a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Earley grew up in Alabama, and always had a heart for animals. Pets were considered to be part of his family, and he was always willing to help injured wildlife. Veterinary medicine combines his passions for medical knowledge, technical skill, and cultivating the human-animal bond. He appreciates that many people recognize animals are more than pets - they are family. Dr. Earley enjoys working with families to provide the best veterinary visits.
Dr. Earley is a foodie who loves to cook and grill. Joined by his lovely wife, Georgia, they enjoy dining at many of the wonderful restaurants in the area. When away from practicing veterinary medicine, he enjoys restoring houses, fishing, mountain biking, and spending time with his crew. His crew includes two (or more...) dogs and a clowder of cats.

Emily(she/her) Client Service Representative

Emily is originally from Michigan, but has called Western North Carolina home for over 20 years. She is new to veterinary medicine; her formal education is in mental health and she has worked in the realm of human healthcare for the last several years. Emily might be new to the field, but she is very passionate about caring for animals. Her interest in veterinary medicine really took off when she began caring for local community cats: providing food, shelter, and medical care for many little friends that have come to her, including most recently a litter of four tiny kittens! In addition to her community cats, Emily and her partner have a few cats of their own that enjoy terrorizing their only dog, Mushroom (who realistically thinks she is just an overgrown cat as well).
When she is not taking care of furry friends, Emily also enjoys spending her time crocheting, gaming, and playing D&D (with Abby!). She is so excited to start in the wonderful world of veterinary medicine and cannot wait to help care for your pets!

Tanya, RVT (she/her) Registered Veterinary Technician

Tanya spent her first years in Okinawa, Japan before moving to a farm in middle TN. There, she developed a deep love for horses, later competing in show jumping and teaching riding lessons. Tanya graduated from Columbia State with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 2011, beginning her career in small animal medicine as a Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician (LVMT). Tanya has called WNC home since 2015, caring for critically ill and trauma patients in an ER/ICU as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), becoming a surgery team leader, and working in general/day-practice environments. Tanya finds great joy in working with other veterinary professionals, providing high-quality care (while taking time with each pet and their owner), pursuing continuing education, and passionately extending her caring heart for God's creatures to the wonderful clients (and their owners) who entrust their care to our practice. Tanya also enjoys cooking and baking, and crafting handmade gifts and cards, and volunteering at her son's elementary school. She and her husband (Collin) enjoy exploring WNC together with their son (Hudson), who is the joy of their lives. They also have two very friendly indoor cats, “Baby Gray” and “Butters,” and a coonhound, “Daisy,” who are all part of their family.

Kaela (she/her) Veterinary Assistant

Kaela was born in Houston, TX, but has called WNC home for over 12 years. She started her career working with animals in a dog daycare and boarding facility, as well as creating her own pet sitting business, which led to her interest in veterinary medicine. She is currently pursuing a degree in veterinary technology and is enrolled in an online program to become an RVT.
Kaela is passionate about Fear Free techniques; she is a certified Fear Free pet-sitter as well as a certified veterinary professional and enjoys working with high FAS patients. Dogs are Kaela’s passion, but she is also interested in reptiles and other exotics. She especially loves big dogs and has two herself; a Doberman pinscher and Doberman/Mastiff mix. Kaela’s faith in God is very important to her in both her personal and professional life and she is a proud member of Beech Glenn Baptist Church. Outside of work, Kaela enjoys hiking, going on picnics, listening to music and even dabbles in some guitar playing!
